Finding common ground in a fragmented world
Group Exhibition at Summerhall
5–11 June 2026
Circum|Stance Collective brings together artists from Scotland, Ireland, England, Germany, Lithuania and Australia in a shared exhibition exploring observation, memory, transformation, identity, landscape, abstraction, and the human condition through a wide range of contemporary artistic practices.
Emerging through connections formed during the Contemporary Art Academy PG4 programme, the collective continues an ongoing dialogue between artists working across different disciplines, experiences, and perspectives. In a time often shaped by fragmentation and noise, the exhibition offers a space for reflection, curiosity, conversation, and connection.
Through painting, drawing, installation, printmaking, and expanded visual practices, the works invite visitors to slow down, look closely, and engage with multiple ways of seeing and understanding the world around us.
Visitors are warmly invited to attend the ‘Meet the Artists’ evening on Friday 5 June, from 6pm–9pm at Summerhall.
This special opening event offers the opportunity to meet participating artists, hear about the ideas and processes behind the works, ask questions, and experience the exhibition in a more personal and engaging atmosphere.
Admission is free.
Visitors attending the ‘Meet the Artists’ event on 5 June, 6–9pm, will have the chance to win a £50 Cass Art voucher and a special art goody bag.
A second £50 Cass Art voucher winner will also be selected from exhibition visitors throughout the week who choose to leave their details and reflections about the exhibition.
